SECUTIX, a leading provider of ticketing and engagement solutions, has launched a pilot program to validate tickets using blockchain technology at a major European music festival this summer.
Announced on August 10, 2026, the initiative employs Hedera Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) in collaboration with The Hashgraph Group, a Swiss Web3 and AI engineering firm. Each issued ticket is accompanied by a cryptographic certificate and a unique token on the Hedera network, enabling real-time authentication via the ticketing app before, during, or after the event. The project is supported by a grant from The Hashgraph Association, a non-profit dedicated to advancing Hedera-based technologies worldwide.([hashgraph-group.com](https://www.hashgraph-group.com/archive/news_o/secutix-trials-blockchain-ticket-authentication?utm_source=openai))
This pilot addresses the persistent problem of ticket fraud, giving both fans and event organizers a straightforward, scalable method to confirm ticket authenticity. According to SECUTIX, fans previously affected by counterfeit or invalid tickets had little recourse—a gap this blockchain approach aims to close.([hashgraph-group.com](https://www.hashgraph-group.com/archive/news_o/secutix-trials-blockchain-ticket-authentication?utm_source=openai))
While detailed results of the pilot have not yet been released, the move underscores a growing trend toward integrating distributed ledger technologies into live events. If successful, this could pave the way for broader adoption of blockchain-based authentication systems across the ticketing industry.
